Coffee Options Around the Library Details:

As a student here, I use the library daily. Sometimes I would really like a nice cup of coffee but LostCoffee at 21 Fitz and Dazbog are closed. There are two options, the Keurig machine, which are nice if you liked brewed coffee, or the "Gourmet Coffee" machine that is tucked over by the bathrooms on the first floor. This machine dispenses awful tasting liquids passed off as popular beverages. Would the library consider replacing this machine (that I doubt gets many repeat users) with a better option provided by Canteen? By replacing this machine, I would bet grades would go up campus-wide!

Answer:

Thank you for the comment. The library will pass this along to other campus parties and deciders like University Facilities which oversees the vending contract with Canteen. To some degree the library does not have control over the vending equipment placed in our building. The coffee machine in question is a low-priced option, and we would not disagree that the quality of the cup is what it is for the price. Many library users have opted to use the Keurig machines throughout the library as an better-tasting alternative. We will continue to let the University know that some students feel better coffee vending options are needed in the library.

Thank you.
