Why don't graduate students have badge access to the library? Details:Why don't graduate students have badge access to the library?
How am I going to use this resource when CU arbitrarily removes badge access to the library? Why doesn't the administration of this campus ever think through the outcomes of the terrible policy choices they make? Why do they insist on wasting my time and making me wade through the bureaucratic morass of their terrible, fragmented, leadership to correct this idiotic oversight? I'm sorry that I'm venting at you, the library staff, who do a fantastic job.

Answer:

Hello: we acknowledge the stress involved with all that is going on due to COVID. I hope you are ok. If you are checking our reply here, please feel free to contact me in case I am able to troubleshoot something in your case. I would need to know more about your status as a graduate student. I do not know if you are an Anschutz graduate student with a malfunctioning ID badge, perhaps a recent student who has already graduated, or someone from the broader CU community. Currently, enrolled graduate students at CU Anschutz do have badge access to our facility. Current campus policy and resulting library guidelines do restrict others who are not active students/employees. I can appreciate the frustration with the lack of walk-in access.

If you are a current graduate student with one of the Anschutz programs, please contact me and I can try to help.

Thank you. – Douglas Stehle, douglas.stehle@cuanschutz.edu, 303-724-2152.
