Question:

When will you be open to the public

Details:

When will you be open to the public
The Federal restrictions because of COVID ended earlier this year. The state of Colorado ended its COVID emergency state on May 11th. A library is a public service that should be open to the use of the community. All other libraries in the state of Colorado are open to the public without restrictions, including the libraries at DU, CU Denver, CU Boulder, and UCCS. What is the basis for the CU Anschutz library still being closed to the public? This is not right and is a hindrance to the public.

I hope you will reopen June 2023.

Answer:

Hello,

The Strauss Library is accessible to the public during regularly staffed hours. All campus buildings are badge access however if one does not have a badge they can make an appointment to have a library staff member meet them at the front door and be escorted inside the building. Please refer to the library’s Facility Access Policy for additional information including a link to make an appointment. As a reminder, the library’s physical collection is accessible throughout the state of Colorado via Prospector. One does not need to visit the library building to access the print collection. If you have additional questions, contact the library directly via any of our AskUs options. Thanks.
