You can check security camera on 1st floor at 2:35pm on 4/28/2024. you can see a pet dog passing the computer workstation area. I thought they left, and I heard the same dog's barking at 5:08pm, coming from the area that close to the reception desk/the main entrance. This is not the first day for me to see pet dogs sneaking in to the library. The other dog that I saw, it was in the study room and did not bark.

Thank you for your Tell Us inquiry. We strive to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study and research, and we appreciate hearing about your experience.

The campus has a service animal policy, and the policy would apply to any animal entering the library. Pets are not allowed in the library, but service animals are. APS 3051 is the Animals on Campus policy.

The library is not staffed after regular business hours or on weekends, so during such times any concerns about safety or conduct can be directed to the University Police. They could help determine whether an animal entering the library is covered under the service animal policy.
