This would be beneficial to students that have virtual interviews to have a room that is specifically tailored to having less supplies in the room.

Thank you for the input. Consider trying one of the individual study booths on the first floor, rooms 1208 - 1211. While smaller than most, the seating orientation of these rooms with their built-in counter puts a wall behind you and the rooms are small enough that there is no clutter. Other individual study booths tend to have glass doors to your back. Room 3206 on third floor might be good and it is on the study room reservation system. There are also similar rooms on the second floor—look at rooms 2203 and 2207.

If there are certain items in a room that are small and easy to move, do not hesitate to put things in the corners or even place them outside if space is adequate for temporary placement. We appreciate it when users put the items and furniture back, but we also reset furniture and items like fans, laptop stands, etc. in and out of rooms all the time. There are some mobile whiteboards around the library to use to create a white background behind yourself.

There can be challenges to dedicating space to a particular function, but we will consider this need in ongoing development. One of the challenges can be ensuring that a dedicated room is available for its purpose by limiting use of the space from other activities recognizing that there are periods of time when a dedicated purpose is not needed and then such spaces can be underutilized. Our approach tends to strive for flexible, open-ended spaces that can be used in diverse ways by as many people as possible. We are aware of the increased use of library rooms for test taking, virtual class attendance and other activities like interviews and will try to factor those in as we do minor updates with furniture and rooms or as major renovation opportunities emerge. Thank you for sharing your interests and for helping the library be mindful in our planning. We appreciate it!
